Red Bull Air Race 2017 - Kazan

Russia will see its first race in the history of the Red Bull Air Race World Championship when the series arrives in Kazan on 22-23 July 2017. Known as the 'Sports Capital of Russia', the city has hosted iconic events as the World Fencing Championship, the World Aquatics Championship and is a host city for both the 2017 Confederations Cup and the 2018 FIFA World Cup.   • Kirby Chambliss made it two wins in a row in front of a weekend crowd of 90,000. Russia was treated to a closely contested Final 4, as the Red Bull Air Race visited for the first time in the sport’s history. American Chambliss navigated the rain to outclass Pete McLeod who finished 2nd, emulating the top two from Budapest. Fellow North American Mike Goulian took 3rd and finished on the podium for the first time since 2009. We now have a new championship leader, as Chambliss moves one point clear.
