Mikael Brageot will fly next and he was very fast in the earlier FP3 session, finishing 3rd
We've got high hopes for the newcomer to the Master Class here in Kazan
He's cleared into the track and off he goes!
But that's the buzzer and it's our first pylon hit of the session!
It's a 57.068 for run 1 for Hall! He moves easily into the top spot and we might even see a faster time now...
It looks like Hall is pushing it here on the second go and possibly trying out something new, but it's not paying off and he's in the red on the split times against his first run
57.661 clean and that's consistent at least for Hall
Matt Hall: "I'm pretty happy with the consistency. Gate 7 is the most challenging but with the westerly wind 3 and 4 are a little easier. We're now ready to start pushing and it's been a good weekend for us. We've got the track record under our belt."
Here comes Goulian for his second run and there's an opportunity to squeeze past the French pilot if he can hold it together while pushing to the limit
That's another great start and straight into the green... but same pattern and it's red again...
56.837 for Goulian's 2nd run and he is absolutely consistent out there over the Kazanka River. He stays in 2nd with half the field left to fly
Spain's Juan Velarde next...
It's an aggressive run here from Kopfstein and an extremely tight Vertical Turning Manoeuvre but it's not enough
59.089 for Kopfstein's first run
This is a much stronger run and he's into the green from the off... back into the red but it's solid and the Czech pilot seems to have this much more under control
His second lap of the track appears to be where he loses time so there's homework to do tonight... it's 57.426 and Kopfstein moves into 4th
Martin Sonka will have his work cut out to beat that time and here he comes through the Start Gate...
And that's an over G call from the tower, but it's not over 12G so he will get his second run... lucky for him!
Second run and he needs to keep his cool... it's not about smashing McLeod's time now, it's about banking a steady run to help his chances tomorrow
It's red on the split times but we know he won't be giving this everything... he just needs to be strategic about getting through clean and with a respectable time on the clock
And he's done that – it's 56.339 and that moves him into 2nd place!
Last competitor in the Master Class Qualifying from Kazan is standings leader Yoshi Muroya of Japan
Cleared into the track and here he comes! 199.2kts through the Start Gate
It's 57.847 for Muroya and that's only enough to leave him in 9th place overall as we end the Qualifying session
